ABOUT THE ARTIST
Beth Blakesley moved to the Inland Northwest in 2003. After decades of needlework, jewelry making, photography, knitting, and other creative endeavors, she stumbled into painting in 2010 and finally found her creative home. Beth works mostly in acrylic, and monoprinting remains a particular obsession, but she also enjoys watercolor, art journaling, and mixed media projects. Working with color and texture is what inspires Beth most.
In January of 2017, Beth began studying Intentional Creativity with Shiloh Sophia McCloud and brought the image of the female face into her work. This new area of creative work has been deeply meaningful and indicates a new direction in her work, on display here in The Council of Women.
